The 'Don't Tell Mama' Voters

For example, The Boston Globe reports on one Regent law school graduate who was interviewed by the Justice Department's civil rights division. Asked what Supreme Court decision of the past 20 years he most disagreed with, he named the decision to strike down a Texas anti-sodomy law.

Isn't there a legitimate, highfalutin' legal argument against what appears to be a "substantive due process" argument in Lawrence v. Texas, the anti-anti-sodomy decision? Why do we assume a Regent law school graduate isn't making that legitimate argument?

Or consider George Deutsch, the presidential appointee at NASA who told a Web site designer to add the word ''theory'' after every mention of the Big Bang, to leave open the possibility of ''intelligent design by a creator.''

The Big Bang isn't a theory?

But did you know that Rachel Paulose, the U.S.

No road tax to be levied on school buses

It may be mentioned here that the MCC had in one of its house meetings a few months ago cleared the issue of introducing motorized rehris.

The fact that it was not clarified whether a licence can be issued for such rehris before bringing such an item into the house and clearing it has irked many.

The harassed applicants, too, are an angry lot now. They allege that on the one hand the MCC officials challan their already existing rehris harassed, but on the other they are not issuing licences for the new ones.

Orlando Premium Outlets' owner buys Dixie Stampede

The mystery buyer of Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede is little more than a stone's throw from the now-shuttered dinner attraction on Interstate 4 near Walt Disney World.

The parent company of the Orlando Premium Outlets shopping center confirmed Tuesday that it holds the contract to buy the property at 8251 Vineland Ave. The company, Chelsea Property Group, is a division of Simon Property Group, the nation's biggest shopping-mall owner and operator.

Chelsea officials wouldn't elaborate on their plans for the 13-acre site, which is across Vineland Avenue from Orlando Premium Outlets.

More: Adnan Ghalib , Britney Spears

When asked about Adnan, Britney says "I never met the man before." She does it all in a British accent and then takes off after saying "I love you, men." Hats off to the pap who asked Britney "What part of England are you from?" That's like asking Michael Jackson to his face what part of Neverland he's from. (Hint: The crazy part.)

NOTE: The first part of this video is Britney Spears and Sam Lufti parking her car. The good stuff kicks in at the 2:00 minute mark.

Economic Worries Trump Security Fears in Pakistan

Bombs explode and a state of emergency is imposed. Judges are sacked, lawyers protest en masse, and the country's most popular politician is assassinated. But if you ask Pakistani Jamila Bibi what she's worried about, she doesn't cite terrorism or political instability. She's worried, she says, because she has no customers.

"Oil is so expensive, flour is so expensive, I can't sell anything. We are under great distress," the 51-year-old widow says at a weekly market in Islamabad, standing under the bras she used to sell with ease. "I've taken a loan out to educate and feed my grandchildren. I don't know what to do. Everything has become so expensive, I'm left with nothing."

3-time French Open champ Gustavo Kuerten to retire, will make his ...

SAO PAULO, Brazil -

Three-time French Open champion Gustavo "Guga" Kuerten will retire from professional tennis after playing at Roland Garros this year.

Kuerten will enter only six tournaments in 2008 before ending his 14-year career, the Brazilian said in a news conference on Tuesday.

"I reached my limit because of my physical condition," Kuerten said. "I wanted to keep playing, participating in the important tournaments. I think I still could play for two or three years if it weren't for the physical part."

A chronic hip injury that needed operations in 2002 and 2004 restricted the lanky Kuerten to only 26 ATP-level matches since late 2004.

Kuerten said the hip injury kept him from playing his best.

"I believe my best years were ahead of me after 2001," he said.
