ANDERSON COUNTY Several public events in Anderson County on Monday will mark this year's Martin Luther King Day. A dedication and unveiling of Martin Luther King Boulevard is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Civic Center of Anderson in conjunction with the holiday. The dedication committee includes City Council member Beatrice R. Thompson, Anderson County Council member Gracie Floyd, Anderson County Assistant Administrator Michael Cunningham and Willie Day, housing and community development director for the city. The Anderson County Ministerial Organization also will sponsor its annual birthday celebration for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the slain civil rights leader, on Monday at the Civic Center of Anderson. The event is to begin at 5:45 p.m.
