Personal preference and style can help you decide which type and color is right for your house.

If you have existing beds that were mulched last year, it is recommended that you add a fresh 1-2" layer this year. If you are removing sod and creating new beds, go ahead and add 2-3" to keep grass and weed growth to a minimum.

Suppliers and retailers of hardwood mulch have made it easy to determine how much hardwood mulch is needed. Use the quantity calculators to help you determine how much to order.
